About Spin & Coffee

News: Spin & Coffee takes place Tuesdays at 10:30 in the white container office 16 (former Gent/NIKHEF office). We will try to provide a list of dedicated topics each Tuesday, please contribute and make suggestions!

Spin & Coffee is a weekly meeting for young Hermesians to discuss about Hermes-related physics. These discussions should be preferrably prepared by at least one person.

Time Table

Please add your name to an existing topic in the table, or add an interesting topic to the list or an interesting topic plus your name to the table below!

  • Regge theory: Ami
  • About two photon exchange and T-invariance: Metz-paper (?) (->Klaus)
  • Questions which came up beginning of March:
    • Some basics on Feynman diagrams. When is a particle virtual, when real. In Bethe-Heitler, is the lepton virtual before it radiates the photon? Is it correct to say virtual-lepton propagator?
    • What exactly means diffractive? Doesn't it mean that the target stays intact and don't we very often mean the very same when we say "exclusive"? And: why are charged rhos in Pythia, then the target cannot stay the same (proton to neutron for example)
  • Electroweak interaction and CKM matrix (combine with Feynman diagrams)
  • Chris-Lee theorem: Alejandro (added 2009-06-09)
